Ruta de la Poesia, or Poetry Route in Estepona, offers a unique walking tour through this charming city. The trail features more than 30 poems, each displayed on beautifully decorative plaques placed in the city’s prettiest corners. This route is a literary treasure, especially for enthusiasts of Spanish literature. Also, notable poets such as William Shakespeare and Polish Nobel Prize winner Wisława Szymborska are honored along the way.
The municipality of Estepona has carefully marked out the Poetry Route, ensuring all charming locations are accessible. The streets along the route are recently renovated and bursting with flowers, making them some of the most picturesque in the city. This trail is also family-friendly and a wonderful place for a walk with children.
Interestingly, while the city of Estepona provides a PDF leaflet detailing the route, there is no online map showing the exact locations of all the plaques—until now. Below, you’ll find a map marking 20 of the 30 locations, with more updates to come. The flyer itself can be downloaded from here.
